Job Description
Job Purpose / Overview
- Working within the Digital and IT Team on the Sizewell C project.
- Lead teams made up of specialists from the Digital and IT (D&IT) organisation.
- Programme manage in line with Managing Sucessful Programmes (MSP) approach the implementation and delivery of multiple D&IT projects to time cost and quality using the D&IT delivery methodology.
- Work with the business Sponsor and business stakeholders to ensure that we deliver what the business needs.
- Ensure that the business is able to adopt the digital capabilities provided.
- Facilitate delivery assurance oversight.
- Line manage any assigned Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers.
- Report progress.
Contextual Information
The Programme Manager will report to the Portfolio Manager and will be deliver projects primarily within the Sizewell C Digital Construction Programme although wider involvement across the D&IT portfolio should be anticipated. The Portfolio Manager will provide support and a point of escalation.
For all projects the Programme Manager will be required to work closely with the business and apply the D&IT delivery methodology and associated governance. The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders is key as is the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
The Programme Manager should have suitable experience of delivery across the project lifecycle on complex technical projects ideally within the digital construction and nuclear industries.
Principal Accountabilities (Outputs of the Job Activities & Decisions)
- Coordinate the delivery of multiple projects and the outputs required by the business.
- Manage scope schedule cost and contingency.
- Manage change.
- Ensure resources are allocated
- Support the commercial strategy and contract management.
- Manage risks actions issues and dependencies.
- Monitor overall progress and initiate corrective action as appropriate to ensure that deliverable are produced on time within budget and to acceptable quality
- Manages the communications with all stakeholders
- Report programme progress at regular intervals to the Sponsor Steering Group or Senior Management.
Qualifications :
- Experience in digital development and applications is desirable.
- Effective leadership and the ability to build high performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.
- Confident decisionmaking ability.
- Great organisational skills.
- Highly experienced in project management in an IT construction or technical environment.
- Previous experience of nuclear operations is desirable.
- Previous experience in energy construction or manufacturing is desirable
- Flexibility to work at the London office or on site at Sizewell C (Suffolk) 3 days per week as needed and flexible home working once established; this is to keep the workstream on schedule and enable effective communication with onsite stakeholders.
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance (BPSS).
