As our Major Shuts Coordinator of your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Safety Health and Environment
- Comply with the health safety and environmental requirements.
- Participate in relevant safety audits inspections and observations and address issues to demonstrate safety leadership.
- Promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where employees can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
- Performance Delivery
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all shutdown activities adhere to safety regulations and policies
- Conduct safety briefings inspections and hazard assessments to mitigate risks.
- Comply with all requirements established by Anglo American Global Operating Model and AS&R best practice guidelines.
- Comply with all work requirements set out by the Anglo American Global Operating Model and AS&R best practice guidelines relating to Shutdown Planning.
- Comply with all work requirements set out by the Anglo American Global Operating Model and AS&R best practice guidelines relating to Maintenance Scheduling.
- Comply with all work requirements in Anglo American Global Operating Model and AS&R best practice guidelines relating to Shutdown Scheduling.
- The Work: Key Outputs and Accountabilities
- Comply with all Maintenance Execution requirements set out by the Anglo American Global Operating Model and AS&R best practice guidelines.
- Participate in at least 4 planned weekly task observations as part of infield quality assurance verification.
- Comply with all work requirements set out by the Anglo American Global Operating Model and AS&R best practice guidelines relating to Shutdown Execution.
- Contractor Management: Manage the activities of contractors when required and ensure they follow safety protocols and meet performance expectations.
- Data Collection: Collect and record data on equipment condition performance and maintenance activities for future reference and analysis.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of the shutdown process including work completed materials used and any issues encountered.
- Environmental Considerations: Ensure that shutdown activities do not negatively impact the environment
- Work closely with SHE to minimise environmental effects such as dust and water noncompliance.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to any emergencies or incidents during the shutdown focusing on minimising safety risks and operational disruptions.
- PostShutdown Analysis: Conduct postshutdown evaluations to identify areas for improvement such as optimising shutdown duration and increasing equipment reliability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all shutdown activities comply with relevant mining regulations and permits.
- Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in future shutdowns.
This role is in Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) department on a band 7.9 level reporting to the General Engineering Supervisor
Qualifications :
- Grade 12/N3 technical
- Higher National qualification in Engineering on NQF5
- Trade Test (Engineering discipline)
- SA Drivers Licence
Technical
- 5 years of relevant experience and practical knowledge of engineering and maintenance within the mining industry.
- Understand operational processes relevant to the position.
- Familiarity with operational drawing and design within the context of mining.
- Knowledge of documentation signoff and approval procedures.
- Understand risk management techniques and critical controls within the mining industry.
- Knowledge of safety health environmental legislative statutory and regulatory requirements for mining operations.
