Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailoriented Tax Consultant with Bookkeeping Experience who specializes in handling Canadian clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in tax planning compliance and bookkeeping with a deep understanding of Canadian tax laws and accounting standards. This role requires excellent analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to provide strategic financial advice to clients while ensuring compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Consultation & Compliance
- Prepare and review corporate personal and sales tax returns (GST/HST/PST) for Canadian clients.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws staying up to date with changes in regulations.
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to optimize tax savings for clients.
- Assist clients with tax audits disputes and correspondence with the CRA.
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records using Canadian accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero Sage).
- Manage accounts payable accounts receivable bank reconciliations and payroll processing for Canadian businesses.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring they comply with IFRS or ASPE standards.
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and cash flow management to support client decisionmaking.
Client Relations & Advisory
- Act as the primary point of contact for Canadian clients providing financial insights and taxsaving strategies.
- Educate clients on Canadian tax compliance financial reporting and business best practices.
- Collaborate with business owners and finance teams to optimize financial performance.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent certification.
- NC3 or equivalent bookkeeping certification is a plus.
- Experience in Canadian tax preparation and bookkeeping is required.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax laws CRA regulations IFRS/ASPE standards.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Xero Sage and other accounting software.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.
