Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

AS a Cashier at Hamad M Al Rugaib , you will be the first and last point of contact for our customers, creating a positive and memorable shopping experience. You will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
Greet customers promptly and courteously.
Assist customers with questions about products, prices, and store policies.
Process customer payments accurately and efficiently using various payment methods (cash, credit cards, debit cards).
Issue receipts and handle returns or exchanges.
Resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
Cash Handling:
Operate the cash register and balance the drawer at the end of each shift.
Follow all cash handling procedures to prevent theft and errors.
Complete daily deposits.
Processing Transactions
Receive payments: Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, or digital transactions.
Issue receipts: Provide customers with proof of their purchase, either printed or digital.
Balance cash drawer: Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the start and end of shifts.

Greet customers: Be friendly and welcoming to customers.
Answer inquiries: Assist customers with questions about products, services, or store policies.
Resolve complaints: Handle customer complaints and escalate them if necessary.
Maintaining Checkout Area
Organize merchandise: Keep the register and surrounding area clean and organized.
Re-stock supplies: Ensure the availability of necessary items like receipt paper, bags, or other checkout materials.

Data Entry and Product Scanning
Scan items: Ensure correct product pricing is inputted into the system.
Update stock information: Keep track of inventory by scanning or inputting data as needed.
Preventing Fraud
Verify large transactions: Check for signs of fraudulent activity, especially with large payments or unfamiliar credit card activity.
Adhere to security protocols: Follow all procedures to minimize the risk of theft and fraud.
Processing Returns and Exchanges
Handle returns: Process returned items and issue refunds or exchanges according to company policy.
