RICHMOND COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY
The men and women of the Richmond County District Attorneys office work each day in partnership with Law Enforcement and the people of Staten Island to pursue justice for victims of crime to prevent crime in all its forms and to promote the safety and wellbeing of all citizens of our Borough.
THE ROLE
The Richmond County District Attorney (RCDA) is seeking a veteran law enforcement professional for the position of the Chief Investigator. The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee the operation and performance of the Detective Investigators Squad.
Manage and supervise Senior Detective Investigators caseloads and assignments.
Conduct background checks and interviews for prospective Detective Investigators.
Work closely with the Detective Investigators to locate and secure victims and witnesses needed for various court and trial procedures.
Plan prepare and execute the Offices formal Witness Assistance Protection Program.
Oversee Cold Case Investigation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of fulltime experience in the performance of criminal investigations 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial executive or supervisory capacity; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 above. Experience may be substituted for education on the basis of six months experience for 1 year of college
PREFERRED SKILLS
Extensive paid police enforcement and investigative work as a police officer as defined in CPL 1.20 within the State of New York with at least 15 years as a member of the NYPD.
Comprehensive experience in a supervisory capacity in one or more of the following areas: organized crime narcotics trafficking money laundry violent crime special victims cases domestic violence hate crimes child abuse and gangs.
Ten years or more of experience in an administrative managerial or supervisory capacity.
Extensive knowledge in planning preparation and execution of Witness Assistance Protection Program.
Experience in supervising narcotics trafficking gun trafficking violent crime special victims cases hate crimes domestic violence and child abuse cases.
Extensive background in community affairs including but not limited to Gun Buy Back initiatives.
Intimate knowledge of crime and criminal behavior of Staten Islands population.

SALARY RANGE: $189856 Commensurate with experience; full NYC benefits package
