Our Summer Internship Program offers temporary fulltime (35 hours per week) employment from June 2 2025 through August 8 2025.

As the Citys primary capital construction project manager DDC builds many of the civic facilities New Yorkers use every day. We provide communities with new or renovated structures such as firehouses libraries police precincts courthouses senior centers and more. We also improve vital infrastructure. Our staff delivers roadway sewer and water main construction projects in all five boroughs. We provide sidewalks street reconstruction water mains sewers and pedestrian ramps quality infrastructure that is essential for a healthy resilient city.

DDCs Summer Internship Program is an opportunity for a select group of students to gain valuable experience in the architecture engineering design safety and construction management professions within a public service context. Students will gain handson technical experience through specific field assignments or task specific office work and a mentoring relationship with seniorlevel technical staff. They will also have the opportunity through a combination of seminars site visits and onthejob training to learn about the challenges of upgrading and constructing the Citys public buildings and street infrastructure.

The Project Controls division is dedicated to advancing DDCs core mission of delivering projects on time and on budget. The division provides institutional data analytics service and helps DDC adopt best practices in schedule cost and risk management. The team is comprised of professionals with experience and knowledge in data analytics risk cost and schedule management. The Project Controls division provides projectlevel support to individual projects as well as programmatic and advisory support.

The Project Controls Unit is seeking a summer intern to support in the advancement of delivering projects on time and on budget. Tasks may include:
Training to work with Construction data. Schedules cost estimates delays and geo encoded data for construction projects in and around New York City.
Using tools like PowerBI (for building dashboards and performing quick descriptive statistics) python (to build machine learning/AI solutions) & Azure based tools to automate tasks and data flows (e.g. synapse pipelines and logic apps).

Qualifications :

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college university or law school.
