Job Description

Enterprise Network Engineer

Location: Onsite 4 days (Aberdeen Maryland)

Note from JLC

The focus area to be in enterprise networking. SDWAN was a big deal previously and remains as a project with a hope that it will become heavily implemented but I dont think that should necessarily be the sole focus area. Along with SDWAN this person should be familiar or could learn SD Routing (which is in the same family of SDWAN). At the end of the day the most ideal hire would have a heavy background in enterprise infrastructure with a large familiarity into the security portfolio with experience in ISE and highlevel concepts of complytoconnect and zero trust architectures. Here is what I would prioritize:

  1. Location this person will have to be in commutable distance allowing them to work in the lab on site.
  2. Route/Switch knowledge at least at the CCNP level with the ideal candidate holding a current CCNP or even better a CCIE
  3. Within the enterprise infrastructure domain should have a strong understanding of:

i. SDWAN

ii. SD Routing

iii. OSPF

iv. OSPFv3

v. BGP

vi. MPLS

vii. VRF

viii. DMVPN

ix. Network automation

x. Network virtualization
Note from JLC
Technically confident across multiple techs
Top Technology: SD WAN Data Center Route Switch (SD WAN most important)
Secret minimum clearance
Not a junior engineer
SME in SDWAN with some high level engineers
Will get back to us with the data center
The client looks at this person as their dedicated resource
Other engineers on the team if they need assistance
Leads Army Team and SOF team (special operations )
Start date late Jan/early Feb
WebEx interview 1st SE on there as well and probably the CXM (they own the business side)
