Job Description

As a Design System Manager you will play a pivotal role in managing and evolving Watson our design system to deliver consistent scalable and accessible design solutions across our product ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to define the future of our design system ensuring it empowers teams to build outstanding inclusive and usercentered experiences efficiently.

In this role you will lead a team of two talented designers driving their professional growth and aligning their work with the vision and standards of Watson. Youll also remain handsoncontributing directly in Figma owning critical system components and setting the standard for excellence in design systems and accessibility practices.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about systems thinking accessibility and fostering collaboration across design engineering and product teams.

We are looking for a Design System Manager to:

  • Own and evolve Watson ensuring it is scalable accessible and flexible for all product teams. Youll continuously adapt the system to address emerging needs while maintaining its quality and integrity.
  • Lead and manage a team of two designers providing mentorship guidance and support to enable their growth and ensure highquality outputs. One of them you will actually have to hire )
  • Oversee the maintenance and growth of Watsons component libraries documentation and design tokens to ensure consistency across products and platforms.
  • Ensure accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG compliance) are embedded into every aspect of the design system championing inclusive design practices and fostering a culture of accessibility.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (Product Managers Engineers and other stakeholders) to align the design system with business goals technical capabilities and accessibility requirements.
  • Facilitate adoption and education by creating resources hosting workshops and providing training to improve understanding usage and best practices across the organization.
  • Drive design system innovation exploring new tools techniques and processes to improve Watsons efficiency accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and optimize the Figma structure and workflows ensuring components and libraries are intuitive efficient and accessible for all design teams.
  • Create and monitor metrics and feedback loops to measure the effectiveness of the design system track improvements and identify opportunities for continuous enhancement.


Qualifications :

What you should have:

  • A portfolio showcasing design systems you have created or significantly contributed to.
  • Proven experience in leading mentoring and managing a small team of designers fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Deep expertise with Figma component libraries and other design system management tools.
  • A strategic mindset focused on design scalability operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Experience collaborating with crossfunctional teams and bridging the gap between design product and engineering.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of systems thinking usercentered design principles and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and operational strategies to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with datainformed decisionmaking including metrics to measure the effectiveness of design operations and systems.
  • 6 years of experience in interaction design. Bonus: Experience in frontend development.

  • A salary adequate to your experience and skills between 60000 and 80000 euros. The range is broad so that we can accommodate our roles for all levels of experience but we will show you the career ladder to explain where we see your skills and impact within the company.
