Job Description
The Authorized Delegate will support our need for component and system obsolescence upgrades and expansion of existing aircraft capabilities and new product development while meeting the certification standards for the various commercial programs.
Our Authorized Delegates have the responsibility to ensure that compliance has been found against the applicable airworthiness standards within their individual authorization using accepted methods. They determine the level of investigation necessary review data and reports and conduct any inspections engineering assessments or witness any component ground or flight tests necessary to determine compliance with the applicable requirements and must ensure that compliance has been established and that the data is complete and accurate. They are also support continuing airworthiness and aircraft customizing activities.
This posting is looking for the following competencies:
- Has experience working with TCCA as an Authorized Person in avionics and electrical systems in making findings of compliance with Standards of Airworthiness or AWM 527 or 529 and approving type design changes or supplemental type design changes .
- Familiar with system and software integration system safety assessment validation and verification testing in systems integration labs aircraft flight test and aircraft/system qualification and certification.
- Adept understanding of aircraft design requirements and validation/certification process.
- Ability to conduct certification compliance data review/approval and secure the authoritys acceptance:
- System performance test plans and procedures analyze results contained in qualification reports for functional and certification testing at the component and system level.
- Certification deliverables of installed or modified systems (electrical loads thermal support for safety analyses EMC HIRF and lightning at the systems and at the aircraft level).
- Ability to provide technical direction based on the certification requirements & advisory materials.
- Oversee aircraft ground and flight testing for compliance data gathering.
Relevant working experience in the following areas is preferred:
- LRU/system testing Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) testing and troubleshooting.
- Generate technical solutions to a wide range of technical tasks. Solutions are thorough practicable and consistent with organization and discipline expectations:
- Development of avionics system requirements and management systems specifications architecture and interfaces with other aircraft systems.
- Development of test requirements to design systems integration lab and flight test aircraft instrumentation design.
- Hardware and software integration testing of multiple systems operating together in a systems integration lab.
- Coordination with avionics system suppliers in the development integration and testing of displays flight instruments communication and navigation systems sensor and sighting systems vehicle health systems and vehicle management systems.
- The candidate will be part of Mirabels DAO and certification team reporting to the companys Certification group.
Qualifications :
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of pertinent experience in aerospace industries.
- Minimum of 1 year working experience with TCCA preferably as an Authorized Person in avionics and/or electrical systems.
- Good analytical and leadership skills.
- Works independently and develops solutions on advance complexity tasks with subject matter experts.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in French
- Excellent command of English is required for this position as it involves communication in English with teams outside of Quebec and/or its suppliers partners and clients outside of Quebec.
- Mentors junior level engineers.
- Strong work ethic and selfmotivation.
- Able to coordinate solutions involving multiple organizations or disciplines.
Working level knowledge or mastery with some or all the following AE areas is required:
AE systems:
- PFD MFD EICAS Cockpit controls Digital Map
- AHRS GPS IFF ADSB TCAS ILS Radar Altimeter Air Data
- Automatic flight control management syst
- Communications Systems: VHF/UHF HF SATCOM Datalink ICS
- CVR and FDR
- Electrical power generation distribution and protection (DC/AC 28 V and HV systems)
- Electrical power storage devic
- Lighting internal and external (commercial and NVIS)
Civil aircraft and systems certification standards:
- Approval of the Type Design or a Change to the Type Design of an Aeronautical Product.
- 14 CFR Part 27 & 29 CS27 & 29 AWM 527 & 529 or equivalent.
- Certification of TSO article installation on rotorcraft.
Equipment qualification standards:
- RTCA/DO160 MILSTD810 MILSTD883 MILSTD461 MILSTD464 RTCA/DO178 RTCA/DO254 RTCA/DO311 and RTCA/DO227
Systems Safety and Reliability Assessments:
- SAE ARP 4754A ARP 4761 MILHDBK217
