Job Description

The PreSales Engineer will be responsible for supporting the sales team in presenting demonstrating and configuring AudioVisual solutions to customers. This role involves understanding customer requirements designing customized AV systems providing technical support during the sales cycle and ensuring seamless communication between customers sales teams and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AV technology and an ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement:

    • Engage with potential customers to understand their AV needs and objectives.
    • Conduct site surveys and meetings to gather requirements and assess existing systems.
    • Provide detailed technical presentations product demonstrations and workshops.
  • Solution Design and Proposal Creation:

    • Collaborate with sales teams to design customized AV solutions (e.g. video conferencing systems display systems audio systems).
    • Create and present proposals including technical documentation and system architecture diagrams.
    • Estimate project costs including hardware software and implementation services.
  • Technical Support:

    • Offer technical consultation to sales teams and customers throughout the sales process.
    • Address any technical questions or concerns raised by the customer or sales team.
    • Prepare proof of concept demos and support customers during trials.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing:

    • Provide training and support to customers on AV system capabilities.
    • Stay uptodate with the latest trends and advancements in AV technology.
    • Train internal sales teams on product features and updates.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with product managers engineers and other internal teams to ensure the proposed solutions meet customer expectations and business goals.
    • Assist in coordinating postsale implementation and troubleshooting.


Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering IT or a related field. Certification in AV technologies (e.g. CTS Crestron) is a plus.
  • Experience:

    • 3 years of experience in a presales or technical sales support role ideally within the AV industry.
    • Handson experience with designing and deploying AV solutions (e.g. conference rooms control rooms digital signage audio systems).
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of AV systems including video conferencing audio equipment display systems and control systems.
    • Familiarity with AV system design software such as AutoCAD DTools or similar tools.
    • Proficiency in using AV equipment (e.g. projectors sound systems microphones cameras).
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.

Familiarity with AV system design software, such as AutoCAD, D-Tools, or similar tools. Proficiency in using AV equipment (e.g., projectors, sound systems, microphones, cameras). Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
