Position: Litigation Special Counsel Complex Construction Cases
Location: Jacksonville Miami Orlando Tampa
Duration: Fulltime
Salary: DOE
Description:
The client is seeking an experienced Special Counsel with at least 6 years of litigation experience to join their Litigation Department in one of their Florida offices (Jacksonville Miami Orlando or Tampa). This fulltime nonpartner track position will focus on Complex Litigation Construction matters specifically multiparty construction defect cases. The ideal candidate must be confident in working autonomously and capable of handling complex legal issues related to construction litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiparty construction defect litigation matters.
- Conduct discovery draft substantive dispositive motions and handle depositions.
- Provide courtroom or arbitration experience with some exposure to trial or evidentiary hearings.
- Work independently while ensuring effective time management and organization of tasks.
- Demonstrate a strong command of oratory research and writing skills.
- Have a baseline understanding of insurance risk transfer issues related to property damage claims.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of litigation experience with significant exposure to complex construction litigation.
- Must hold a JD from an ABAapproved law school and be an active goodstanding member of the Florida Bar.
- Strong courtroom or arbitration experience with a focus on discovery and motion drafting.
- Board Certification in Construction Law by the Florida Bar is preferred.
- Selfmotivated focused with excellent organizational and time management skills.
