Job Description

Position: Litigation Special Counse

Location: Jacksonville Miami Orlando Tallahassee or Tampa

Duration: Fulltime

Salary: DOE

Description:

Our client is seeking up to three attorneys with 2 to 5 years of litigation experience to join their Litigation Department as Special Counsel. This is a fulltime nonpartner track position supporting the Construction Practice Group. The preferred location for this position is Tampa although qualified candidates in Jacksonville Miami Orlando and Tallahassee will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of cases many of which proceed in arbitration rather than in circuit court.
  • Conduct discovery draft motions argue motions in court and participate in depositions and trials.
  • Mediate arbitrate and litigate insurance claims construction and design defect claims and related matters.
  • Demonstrate strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Maintain autonomy and selfmotivation especially in an office setting.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of litigation experience.
  • JD from an ABAapproved law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven track record in settling cases.
  • Experience managing a team of paralegals and support staff is beneficial.
