Job Description

Position: Quality Control (QC) Engineer
Department: Quality Assurance / Engineering
Reports To: Project Manager / QC Incharge
Job Type: Fulltime

Overview:
The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring evaluating and ensuring the quality of construction materials processes and activities across the project lifecycle. This role involves implementing quality assurance and control procedures performing site inspections conducting material tests and ensuring that the construction work complies with all relevant standards specifications and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control Management
Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards for the construction project.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure that work performed meets the established quality standards.
Review construction plans blueprints and specifications to ensure they align with required quality standards.
Ensure all materials and processes used in construction are compliant with project specifications safety regulations and industry standards.

2. Material Inspection & Testing
Inspect construction materials (e.g. concrete steel aggregates) for compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate and oversee the testing of materials (e.g. compressive strength tests soil tests asphalt tests) to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
Review test reports and recommend corrective actions if any material does not meet the specifications.

3. Inspection & Documentation
Perform site inspections during different stages of construction to monitor quality and progress.
Prepare and maintain detailed records of inspections testing and quality control activities.
Document nonconformance issues (NCRs) and collaborate with the construction team to implement corrective actions.
Create and maintain logs of inspection reports test results and other qualityrelated documents.

4. NonConformance Management
Identify report and track nonconformance issues related to construction activities or materials.
Work with the project team to investigate the root causes of nonconformances and develop corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs).
Ensure that all NCRs are properly addressed and documented.

5. Collaboration & Support
Work closely with project managers site engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team regarding quality issues.
Review and approve subcontractor and vendor quality plans ensuring they align with the project s quality standards.

6. Compliance & Safety
Ensure that quality control procedures adhere to safety regulations and do not compromise the safety of workers or the public.
Ensure all materials activities and processes meet the environmental and safety standards as required by law and the project specifications.
Participate in site safety audits and qualityrelated safety inspections.

7. Reporting & Quality Reviews
Prepare regular quality control reports and present them to senior management or the project team.
Conduct quality reviews and audits to ensure that the project is on track and that quality standards are maintained throughout the construction process.
Provide recommendations for improvements in construction processes and materials based on inspection findings.

8. Continuous Improvement
Identify areas for improvement in quality control processes and propose new methods or techniques to increase efficiency.
Encourage a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the site workforce.
Participate in training sessions to improve quality control knowledge and practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering Construction Engineering or a related field.

Experience:
25 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in the construction industry with exposure to largescale construction projects.

Skills:
Strong knowledge of construction materials methods and industry standards.
Proficient in quality management techniques and tools (e.g. inspection plans nonconformance reports).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and specifications.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in teams and communicate with all project stakeholders.

Certifications:
Certification in Quality Control (e.g. ISO 9001 Six Sigma) or relevant quality assurance qualifications.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and certifications (e.g. OSHA CSCS) is a plus.
