Job Description

We are looking for a versatile Senior Laboratory Technician to join our growing team in Bristol.

The successful candidate will have at least 23 years experience in Material testing Laboratory environment and a keen team player.

The role objectives :

To produce test results in accordance with documented procedures standards and specifications.

To ensure that the laboratory is maintained in compliance with UKAS and Company requirements.

To supervise and assist in the training motivation and deployment of staff.

To ensure the laboratory is a safe clean and tidy environment in which to work.

Core responsibilities:

To work in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy.

To carry out allocated work as directed by the Laboratory Manager in accordance with documented in house procedures in an expeditious manner.

To integrate into the team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.

To ensure the control of incoming and stored test specimens.

To liaise with the Laboratory Manager as appropriate in the day to day running of the laboratory.

To assist in the maintenance of records relating to the Management System Data entry of important test results Following stringent quality procedures to perform testing Carrying out various soil and concrete and asphalt tests throughout the lab Liaise with the quality department to book in calibration or report equipment failure Maintain good laboratory practice maintenance of laboratory equipment and safe working procedures.

Any other tasks assigned by lab manager

Assist with UKAS Audits To Ensure the current turnaround times for in house testing are being met.

Experience / Skills:

Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy.

IT literate.

minimum 23 years experience in Material testing Laboratory environment
