Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

We seek an experienced Utility Operations Application Specialist (AMI Metering MWM EAM) to join our support team and maximize the potential of our cuttingedge operations applications at the heart of our Companys mission.
The candidate will bridge our technical systems and operational needs and should have a strong background in utility operations technical expertise in managing and supporting critical operational applications and be proficient with SQL and Java development. This role will focus on advanced applications such as meter management AMI metering mobile workforce management and enterprise asset management.


PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Administer and maintain the assigned operations applications

  2. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for endusers

  3. Manage application upgrades patches and new feature implementations.

  4. Ensure data integrity security and compliance with regulations

  5. Develop and deliver user training programs / Maintain user documentation

  6. Develop and maintain custom applications and scripts using Java to support utility operations.

  7. Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction analysis and reporting.

  8. Familiar with API functions and usages

  9. Develop and maintain documentation for application processes configurations and troubleshooting procedures.

  10. Conduct user training and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal use of applications.

  11. Perform system health checks and proactively identify areas for improvement.

  12. Assist in project planning and execution for new application implementations or major upgrades.

  13. Ensure application compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  14. Participate in oncall rotation for critical system support.



Education / Experience / Background


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent required

  • 5 years of experience in utility operations and related applications

  • Strong background in meter management AMI metering mobile workforce management or enterprise asset management systems

  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

  • Passion for environmental sustainability and desire to make a positive impact

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities


  • Good understanding of utility operations and processes

  • Proficiency in at least 2 operation systems such as:

    • Meter Management (i.e.Sensus Neptune Itron)

    • AMI metering technology (i.e. Sensus AMI)

    • Mobile Workforce Management (i.e. IFS MWM)

    • Enterprise Asset Management (i.e. HxGN Kloudgin or Cityworks)

  • SQL and database management skills (Oracle and/or MS SQL Server preferred)

  • Exposure to scripting and process automation (e.g. Python PowerShell)

  • Proficiency with Java Programming & API integration

  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices

  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks

  • Data analysis and reporting skills

  • Experience with change management processes

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance in utilities

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation

  • Experience with agile methodologies

  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement

  • Project management experience is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience / Background

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field and equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of designing implementing and maintaining the infrastructure services or similar role.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.

Certification / Licenses / Training

  • AWS Professional Certifications preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Time flexibility required
  • Hybrid position with 3 days per week at the Company HQ Office in Paramus NJ
