Job Description
- Subject Matter Expert Carbon Composite Process Engineer
- Conduct deep dive on composite documentation from composite suppliers materials selection design allowables test program qualification program etc
- Audit suppliers composite fabrication processes including process development and process qualification
- Present findings and recommendations for materials and manufacturing process improvement
- Design and carry out test programs related to composite materials and manufacturing process improvements
- Collaborate with Design Systems and Analyst engineering teams to identify priorities elevate barriers and work projects to completion
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Materials Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in composite manufacturing
- Candidate must have a strong background in carbon composite materials and manufacturing processes including:
- Carbon/Epoxy manual layup
- Composite design allowables development
- Troubleshooting manufacturing issues identifying root causes and implementing corrective action

- Must have experience with aerospace composite structures development and fabrication
- Experience with resolving complex and highprofile technical challenges in a dynamic setting
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- MS Office Applications (Word Excel Access Power Point Outlook etc ) proficiency required
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 50%
- Experience with carbon/phenolic composite systems
- Experience with filament winding or tape place composite manufacturing
- Experience with C/C or C/SiC composites
- Experience with out of autoclave curing of carbon/epoxy composites
- Experience with use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in a manufacturing environment
