2nd Class Engineer
About our Client:
2nd CLASS ENGINEER will be responsible to operate the Steam & Recovery area in a safe and efficient manner while satisfying the demands of the Mill in relation to quality and quantities of steam air and water. This is done within accordance with Our Clients Operations regulations guidelines policies procedures and operating parameters in regard to Safety and the Environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safety work performance and the training of the Control Room Operator and the Technicians in the Steam & Recovery Department.
- Ensure operators are trained to perform the duties requires of them in their area and are actively training to assist in other positions.
- Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner
- They are responsible for the safe shutdown of the Recovery Boiler if required.
- Ensure operating parameters are being met and any nonconformances are properly logged along with the corrective actions taken.
- Report the performance of the department as required and to the extent that their knowledge would extend.
- Coordinate the daily maintenance work with the maintenance department ensuring a safe workplace and efficient use of manpower.
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong safety knowledge and work environment
Requirement:
- 2nd Class Engineers Certificate and must be valid in in Canada
- Understand and be able to communicate the operation of the Steam & Recovery Department functions as a main link within the mill site production processes.
- Understand and implement problemsolving techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical operational and personal events before these have a negative effect on the productivity of the department.
- Possess the basic communications and interpersonal skills to effectively respond to various internal customer needs throughout the site to develop a team atmosphere within your crew.
