We are recruiting an ambitious selfmotivated and experimentally talented Research Associate to join us in understanding the mechanisms underlying the response of neural progenitor cells to spinal cord injury in regenerative and nonregenerative species (Xenopus and mouse).
This project is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to develop skills in the latest transcriptomics and genome engineering techniques and will develop new strategies to improve outcomes after spinal cord injury The specific aims of the project are to identify regenerationspecific transcriptional trajectory leading to neurogenesis in Xenopus and use this knowledge to promote selfrepair of the spinal cord after injury in a mouse model.
The post is funded by UK Medical Research Council and is available fixed term until February 2027. Candidates must hold a PhD or expect to shortly in a Biological discipline.
Please note you must be able to work unsociable hours / weekends.
