2025 Finance Development Program

Finance Development Program Overview: 

AbbVies Finance Development Program (FDP) consists of four rotations over two years to prepare you for financial management roles. The roles are crafted to help you develop exceptional functional and leadership traits by working on a wide range of projects while providing exposure to different leaders in the company. These finance experiences will develop you and put you on the fast track to future finance leadership opportunities at AbbVie. 

AbbVie FDP rotations are structured within 4 functional areas of the business:  

Commercial:

• Commercial Finance provides global leadership guidance and financial support to AbbVies Commercial operations including the Allergan Aesthetics business. This organization forecasts for our key brands in Immunology Oncology or Neuroscience and Eye Care. Commercial International Therapeutics helps to support our global operations and planning worldwide. 

Operations:

• Operations Finance provides leadership and guidance to Manufacturing Supply Chain Purchasing and various other support functions related to financial planning and internal management reporting. The Finance team provides decision support services through analysis of key financial information while driving operating margin improvement maximizing tax advantaged product sourcing and maintaining an assurance of supply. 

Research & Development:

• Supports AbbVies Research & Development (R&D) activities with primary focus on pipeline compounds in development beginning from target and molecule discovery to human clinical study conduct to filing for regulatory approvals in markets around the world and support of onmarket products for new indications and regulatory commitments. R&D Finance is generally aligned around the stages of compound development and its related operating functions. 

Corporate:  

• Accounting: The Accounting COE governs AbbVies global accounting function establishing and monitoring global policy procedures and controls for One AbbVie. 

• Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): FP&A drives business performance by serving as trusted advisors and partners who influence strategy enable operation excellence and maintain a strong controls environment. 

• Finance Shared Services: Finance Shared Services governs and supports AbbVies global standardized endtoend backoffice processes maintaining the operations and transactional business activities that enable the company to run. 

• Internal Audit: Internal Audit protects and enhances organizational value by providing riskbased and objective assurance advice and insight. 

• Investor Relations: The Investor Relations (IR) function is responsible for developing implementing and managing a comprehensive strategic and proactive investor relations program that optimizes the value of AbbVies stock. IR serves as a primary point of interface to introduce position and market the company to equity analysts and large institutional investors. IR disseminates key company information regarding AbbVies corporate strategy financial performance and product/pipeline performance to assist investors in making informed investment decisions. The IR team works closely with numerous functions within the company including the Executive Leadership Team Finance Commercial Legal R&D Public Affairs Business Development Government Affairs etc. 

• Tax and Global Trade Compliance (GTC): Tax is a trusted business partner that enables our business by fulfilling tax legal obligations and through collaboration with key finance and operational functions. By managing the domestic and international tax profile Tax delivers value to the company and shareholders. 

• Treasury: Treasury provides centralized and efficient global business support in the areas of banking foreign exchange financial risk management investments and capital structure that ensures adequate liquidity for the company and its subsidiaries. In addition to the HQ location in Lake County Treasury has regional centers in Singapore the Netherlands and Colombia. 

In addition to gaining the above functional experience you will also work cross functionally in a matrix environment building your business acumen and participating in key training sessions. 

During your two years as an FDP member you can expect to complete four separate professional work assignments within finance areas such as:  

• Financial Analysis: 
• Budgets Plans Forecasting: 
• Reporting & Controls: 
• Manufacturing Operations Accounting: 

Most FDP members will be placed within one of AbbVies offices in Lake County IL for their first rotation with the possibility of an initial placement or rotation in any U.S. AbbVie location. Global placements are also possible. Placements will be based onbusiness needs and our ability to accommodateindividuals preferences when possible. 

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Must have completed a bachelors degree in finance and/or accounting with an expected graduation date between December 2024 June 2025. 
• Successful completion of at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation with one of the courses being focused on cost or managerial accounting. 
• Proven capability to effectively communicate within work and/or academic environments adapting messaging to suit diverse audiences. 
• Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint in both academic and professional settings. 
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting. 
• Willingness to relocate outside of Lake County IL for 1 to 2 sixmonth rotation(s). 
• Must submit unofficial or official transcript at time of application. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus. 
• Experience in effectively utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way. 
• Exposure or proficiency in handling Big Data to perform robust analytics and predictive modeling with ease. 
• Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course. 
• Capability to blend technical and business knowledge and supplement it with analytical expertise and innovative problemsolving skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects within a work and/or academic environment ensuring they are completed on time within budget and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. 
• Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams being adaptable innovative proactive and maintaining high ethical standards. 
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred.

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

• We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation holidays sick) medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.

• This job is eligible to participate in our shortterm incentive programs.
