Job Description

Job Title: Head of Alliance Management

Pathos was founded to revolutionize precision medicine in cancer by harnessing the power of machine learning to transform drug development. Pathos aims to accelerate traditional oncology approaches based upon a comprehensive and integrated datafirst strategy to discover and develop drugs for precise biological pathways. Pathos is currently pursuing codevelopment and inlicensing opportunities to build a portfolio of clinical stage oncology assets applying its technology to find the right patients and indications resulting in a highly improved probability of success and faster time to market.

The founding team built and scaled Tempus Labs an AIenabled diagnostics company that has built the world’s largest library of clinical and molecular data and an operating system to make sense of it. Through this experience the founders have seen how precision medicine can transform lives yet many patients remain who need better therapies. A new approach is needed to change the paradigm of drug development to rapidly serve these unmet needs highlighting a unique opportunity for Pathos to pursue. We’re looking for other trailblazers who see the world differently and want to forge this new path with us.

Our team is distributed across the US with hubs in New York and Salt Lake. While we still operate with the agility of a startup we are scaling to advance our platform.

About The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Head of Alliance Management will be responsible for leading and executing partnership strategies that drive our growth. The role will be instrumental in supporting business development activities working closely with the team prior to the completion of licensing or codevelopment transactions. You will manage the full lifecycle of alliances including providing oversight for joint governance committees managing fulfillment of obligations to and from the partner and being responsible in collaboration with Corporate Development and Legal for renegotiations or additional agreements with external partners as required.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Strategic Partnership Leadership: Develop and execute strategies for managing alliances with biopharmaceutical companies research organizations and technology providers aligning these partnerships with Pathos’ business goals.
  • Business Development Collaboration: Actively support the business development team by providing strategic insights and operational oversight before and after the completion of licensing and codevelopment deals.
  • Alliance Execution and Oversight: Establish and maintain effective governance mechanisms aligning partnership objectives roles responsibilities and obligations throughout the alliance lifecycle ensuring alignment with Pathos AI’s objectives.
  • Crossfunctional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (R&D clinical regulatory finance legal) to ensure seamless execution of partnership strategies timelines and milestones.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address potential challenges ensuring partnerships remain on track with a focus on mutual value creation.
  • Conflict Resolution: Communicate with internal and external parties to resolve any issues that arise in the course of partnerships.
  • Market and Industry Insights: Stay ahead of industry trends guiding Pathos AI's strategic partnerships to capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Who You Are

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor's degree in business life sciences or related fields; MBA or advanced preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will bring deep expertise in:
    • Partnership Management: 10 years of experience in managing complex partnerships within the biotech healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
    • Business Development Support: Experience working closely with business development teams to facilitate successful licensing M&A or codevelopment deals.
    • Drug Development Knowledge: Understanding of the drug development and commercialization process.
    • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to align partnerships with longterm business goals and develop innovative highimpact collaborations.
    • Negotiation and Communication: Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication to influence key stakeholders and ensure seamless alliance operations.
    • Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead crossfunctional teams and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bonus Experience:
    • Prior experience with AIdriven healthcare or oncology drug development partnerships.
