The Laboratory of Growth Control an Cancer Research headed by Professor Georg Halder is one of the research groups of the VIB Center for Cancer Biology (CCB) within the Oncology Department of KU Leuven. Our Lab studies the role of the Hippo pathway and its effectors YAP/TAZ in liver cancer. We use a variety of techniques such as hydrodynamic tail vain injection immunofluorescence (IF) and immune histochemistry (IHC) confocal microscopy PCR cloning etc.
We are looking for a motivated research technician to join the team and provide handson support in tasks related to mouse colony maintenance mouse experiments as well as general lab duties.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for
- Mouse colony maintenance and assisting with mouse experiments
- General molecular biology tasks: PCR cloning Western blot IF and IHC staining etc
- Data documentation in electronic format (elab Lais)
- Daily organization of the lab
- Maintenance of general lab supplies and ordering of consumables
Profile
- You have a professional bachelors degree biomedical sciences immunology molecular biology cell biology biochemistry biomedicine or related disciplines or similar expertise by experience
- Since you will be involved in experiments with laboratory animals a FELASA B certificate is required
- You have experience with general molecular biology techniques
- Ability to work independently in relation to lab organization is required.
- Good communication organizational and writing skills
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
