Job Description

Reporting to the  RecordtoReport COE Manager and based in Sri Lanka the Balance Sheet Reconciliation Manager role will provide Support for the Group Balance Sheet Reconciliation function supporting all entities on Thor!

The Balance Sheet Reconciliation manager  will facilitate centralized Group Balance sheet reconciliation processing and account reconciliation wherever possible. The goal is to create uniform global processes that can be more efficiently managed within the CoE across a broad range of monthly GL activity.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

Manage and develop the reconciliation team ensuring accurate and timely completion of monthly reconciliations of all GL accounts.

Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and account balances are accurately stated by GAAP and Company policy. Research/resolve any issues identified.


 Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts to source data and systems to ensure all transactions have been accurately recorded. Research/resolve any issues identified.


   Prepare and maintain process documentation and coordinate any required updates to Procedures with relevant parties.

Identify areas for improvement in reconciliation processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Process Group Balance sheet Reconciliation globally according to accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and IFS Accounting Policies.

Interface with the global accounting team group consolidation team Treasury Finance Shared service teams and cost controllers.

Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships acting as a liaison with vendors and other departments.


Study the Global process and gather Supporting documents and details for Balance Sheet Reconciliation.


Qualifications :

 

Overall Required Competence

  • High standard of technical accounting
  • High degree of organization and selfdiscipline
  • Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new things quickly and hit the ground running.
  • Willingness to work outside of comfort zone.
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Good standard of report building and maintenance in within Excel data cubes
  • Excellent communications skills

Required Education & Experience

  • Fully qualified ACA ACCA or CGMA or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance is a added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP
  • Fluency in businesslevel English language
