Job Description

Job Title: Perioperative Services Assistant

Schedule:

  • Shift: AM (6:45 AM 3:15 PM)
  • Hours: 5 days per week 8 hours per day (40 hours total)
  • Meal Duration: 30 minutes
  • OnCall: Not required

Job Summary:
The Perioperative Services Assistant supports the efficient operation of the Operating Room (OR) PostAnesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and SameDay Surgery (SPU) by providing essential services that maintain a clean organized and safe environment. Responsibilities include transporting patients supplies and equipment within Perioperative Services performing betweencase cleaning of ORs and equipment and maintaining cleanliness in offices lounges restrooms and call rooms. The role also involves assisting with direct patient care during surgical procedures as assigned.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping or environmental services (Required)
  • At least 1 year of experience with floor maintenance using commercial equipment (Preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a healthcare setting (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and safety standards
  • Ability to transport patients and equipment with care and efficiency
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and procedures
  • Comfortable working in a healthcare environment and providing direct patient care when necessary

This role is vital to maintaining a high standard of care and hygiene within Perioperative Services contributing to a safe and efficient surgical environment for patients and staff.
