Job Description
This role focuses on the procurement of components for electrification engineering projects with an emphasis on R&D/prototype purchasing. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers to ensure the timely and accurate acquisition of parts and systems necessary for project builds.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Engagement: Reach out to prototype suppliers for components such as electric motors and other electrification parts.
R&D Purchasing: Focus on research and development purchasing rather than production parts.
Collaboration: Work with engineers to gather spec sheets and ensure the correct components and systems are ordered.
Order Management: Order and track parts to ensure they align with the build timeline.
Quoting and Purchasing: Gather quotes and issue purchase orders.
Internal Parts Ordering: Use Caterpillar part numbers provided by engineers to order internal parts.
System Utilization: Utilize tools such as NextGen CAT parts system tool Teamcenter PRWB and HVC.
Morton Parts System: Order parts from the Morton parts system.
Technical Expertise: Leverage technical background to support procurement activities.
Qualifications:
Experience in procurement or purchasing particularly in an R&D environment.
Proficiency with procurement and parts management systems (e.g. NextGen CAT parts system tool Teamcenter PRWB HVC).
Technical background in engineering or a related field is a plus.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.
Detailoriented with strong problemsolving skills.
