Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases ensuring high availability security and performance. The Senior DBA will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support business objectives and drive database optimization strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design install configure and maintain MS SQL Server databases.
- Monitor database performance tune queries and optimize indexing strategies.
- Implement and maintain database backup recovery and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure database security including user access controls and encryption.
- Automate database management tasks using scripting (PowerShell TSQL etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues ensuring minimal downtime.
- Implement highavailability solutions such as clustering mirroring and replication.
- Work closely with application developers to optimize database design and performance.
- Plan and execute database upgrades patches and migrations.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database architecture procedures and policies.
- Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership in database management.
Qualifications :
- 8 years of experience in database administration with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).
- Expertise in SQL Server Always On Availability Groups Failover Clustering Replication and Log Shipping.
- Strong understanding of SQL Query Optimization Indexing and Performance Tuning.
- Experience with SSIS SSRS SSAS and PowerShell scripting.
- Knowledge of cloudbased SQL solutions (Azure SQL AWS RDS etc.) is a plus.
- Handson experience with database security best practices and compliance (GDPR HIPAA PCIDSS etc.).
- Proficiency in TSQL scripting stored procedures and triggers.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
