The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) has the mission to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. To achieve this 8 sexual health clinics provides direct clinical services to people seeking sexual health care and services to sex partners. The BPHC operates 8 Sexual Health Clinics throughout New York City (NYC). The Bureau requests to hire a Community Coordinator/Telemedicine Coordinator who will report to the Agency Medical Director will oversee development implementation and maintenance of NYC SHC telemedicine operations in accordance with DOHMH administrative policies and accepted national and NYS standards.
The selected candidate will oversee development implementation and maintenance of NYC SHC telemedicine operations in accordance with DOHMH administrative policies and accepted national and NYS standards.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Collaborate with NYC community boards community gatekeepers and communitybased organizations to improve relationships between DOHMH and local residents and address healthcare concerns of local communities
Develop and implement community engagement activities in partnership with the BPHC community engagement team to raise awareness of BPHC Telehealth program and other services.
Develop and maintain partnerships with communitybased organizations and community gatekeepers to reach at risk populations including YMSM of Color transidentified individuals and sex workers.
Oversee the development implementation and maintenance of BPHCs Telemedicine program in partnership with the Operations and Medical teams to ensure the highest level of clinical quality and operation efficiency.
Coordinate and manage communications between Telemedicine program and clinic staff including developing and distributing daily patient appointment list to participating clinics creating appointment files and missed visit reconciliation.
Supervise Telemedicine intake staff and other nonmedical program staff including supervision and evaluation of staff assuring adequate staffing online areas assessing personnel needs participating in hiring training and counseling staff on disciplinary matters as necessary etc.
Work with BPHC Informatics teams and DOHMH IT Division to identify and resolve hardware/software performance issues including EMR updates.
Oversee the collection and analysis of Telemedicine hotline data including communicating findings with program staff disseminating weekly internal email updates and preparing reports for BPHC leadership.
Manage the Telemedicine hotline incoming call flow including patient triage testing/ updating outgoing Telemedicine messaging and responding to patient complaints/compliments.
Onboard and train new staff to Telehealth program and digital platforms to ensure highest level of clinical quality and efficiency of program.
Work directly with BPHC Communication team on development of culturally appropriate marketing materials Telehealth messaging and website updates for the program.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
