Job description:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading nonprofit organization that specializes in building safety sustainability and technical compliance services for public and private sector clients. With a strong commitment to enhancing community resilience disaster recovery and energy efficiency this organization is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to spearhead their expansion into federal markets.


About the Role:

This is a pivotal leadership position where you will play a key role in driving business strategy expanding market reach and developing new revenue streams within the federal built environment energy and infrastructure services sectors. Reporting directly to the CEO you will collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute a longterm strategic growth plan leveraging the organizations extensive technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & Business Development:

Develop and execute longterm and annual growth strategies to expand the organizations presence in federal and other key markets.

Lead business development initiatives identifying new opportunities and cultivating highvalue relationships with key government agencies contractors and industry partners.

Spearhead strategic partnerships teaming agreements and new market exploration to enhance service offerings.

Federal Market Expansion:

Focus on expanding the organization s footprint in federal government contracts grants and technical service agreements.

Utilize deep industry knowledge to identify emerging federal opportunities and position the organization as a trusted partner for infrastructure compliance and sustainability solutions.

Leadership & Team Development:

Lead and mentor the Capture Marketing and Proposal teams ensuring alignment with overall growth strategies.

Provide guidance and training to internal teams on proposal development branding and client engagement.

Pipeline & Performance Management:

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development ensuring accountability for revenue growth.

Track analyze and optimize business pipeline metrics to maximize conversion and revenue potential.

Oversee market research initiatives to stay ahead of industry trends and position the organization as a thought leader.

CrossFunctional Collaboration:

Work closely with technical and program teams to align business development efforts with operational capabilities.

Partner with government associations and industry stakeholders to enhance the organization s reputation and leverage strategic alliances.

Strong Business Development Leadership 10 years of professional leadership experience with at least 8 years in business development preferably in the federal market.

Established Industry Network A wellconnected leader with strong relationships in the federal infrastructure built environment and sustainability sectors.
DataDriven & ResultsOriented Ability to develop performancedriven strategies using data analytics KPIs and competitive intelligence.
Entrepreneurial Leadership A playercoach mentality willing to lead handson business development efforts while also coaching and mentoring teams.



Requirements

Extensive Federal Sector Expertise Proven experience securing and managing contracts within federal agencies infrastructure projects or sustainability programs.
Strong Business Development Leadership 10 years of professional leadership experience with at least 8 years in business development preferably in the federal market.
Visionary & Strategic Thinker Able to drive highlevel business planning revenue forecasting and market positioning efforts.
Established Industry Network A wellconnected leader with strong relationships in the federal infrastructure built environment and sustainability sectors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Business Engineering Public Administration or a related field (Master s degree preferred).

Strong understanding of government contracting procurement processes and compliance requirements.

Experience with marketing capture management and proposal development in the federal sector.

Exceptional communication negotiation and relationshipbuilding skills.

Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Business, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field (Master s degree preferred). Strong understanding of government contracting, procurement processes, and compliance requirements. Experience with marketing, capture management, and proposal development in the federal sector. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
