Job Description

Are you looking for a career that makes a difference in your local community Join us at the Arc of Greater New Orleans! We are searching for an experienced operations leader from the nonprofit world to help drive continued excellence at the ARC of Greater New Orleans.

Position Overview

The Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for the nonprogrammatic based team of the ARC of Greater New Orleans. This role will manage all administrative and businessfocused operations of the agency and will report to the Executive Director. This role is directly responsible for managing a team of departmental leaders aimed at maximizing efficiency regarding daily quarterly and annual processes and developing an industryleading approach to operations management in the IDD nonprofit sector.

Essential Job Functions

  • Day to day oversight of finance facilities fleet management including the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) regulations STARRS and Samsara and Human Resources
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning regarding the future outlook of the ARC of Greater New Orleans
  • Oversee the annual budget process including forecasting and financial risk management for the agency
  • Assist with developing a wellstructured performance management process and focusing intently on employee development and engagement
  • Develop systems for reporting and data analysis to guide informed decision making across the agency
  • Assist with and oversee all annual financial and regulatory audits required from our governing bodies
  • Understand create and implement policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in alignment with regulatory bodies including Center for Medicaid and Medicaid Services (CMS) Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
  • Execute process improvement to increase efficiencies through electronic workflows and software leading to a digitization of the agencys processes

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 3 years of prior experience working with or communicating with local governing boards and organizational board of directors
  • 5 years of organizational leadership in a senior capacity required
  • 5 years of nonprofit experience preferably in the IDD sector
  • 3 years of working with Medicaid and Medicaid regulations required including billing relationship management and process improvement preferred
  • Bachelors degree in business administration finance or another business discipline required Masters degree preferred
  • Prior fundraising or business development experience preferred

  • Agile thinker able to anticipate trends and convey the consequences as they pertain to the ARC of Greater New Orleans
  • Ability to effectively build the organization and staff capacity for a top notch workforce with processes that run smoothly
  • Deep understanding of financial principles as they pertain to business and financial acumen including advising executivelevel teams on financial decision with reaching impact
  • Effective communicator with the ability to promote crosscommunication between departments and teams to break out of silos
