Software Engineer - Developer Experience

As a Software Engineer on Contentfuls Ecosystem team you will play a critical role in developing and refining tools libraries and documentation that make building on top of Contentful fast and easy for customer developers. You will be designing developing and maintaining developer tools such as client libraries/SDKs the Contentful CLI and developer documentation. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to champion the needs of external developer users across the company in order to provide guidance and ensure quality standards. Your expertise in creating seamless and intuitive developer experiences will play a direct role in Contentfuls growth and customer retention. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building remarkable solutions that make integration content delivery extensibility and all other developercentered Contentful tasks intuitive fast and easy. 

Developer Experience:

• Design and implement strategies that improve Contentfuls developer user experience.
• Build tools and frameworks that streamline the endtoend development process.
• Identify and develop product enhancements to maximize the platforms extensibility.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and userfriendly interfaces for developer products.

Developer Tools:

• Contribute to the development and improvement of tools that allow developers to customize Contentful to meet user and business needs.
• Actively engage with feedback from internal teams and external developers to identify and implement enhancements to our developer tools and SDKs.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our tools and SDKs remain cuttingedge and provide a remarkable developer experience.

Technical Leadership:

• Provide collaborative guidance to other engineers fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.
• Proactively drive alignment between product teams and crossfunctional stakeholders.
• Stay uptodate with advancements in developer tools industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Community Engagement:

• Engage with customer and partner developers in order to stay connected with the struggles they face and help inform the teams work and priorities.
• Monitor and respond to Contentfuls existing and prospective customers to obtain feedback help drive the product vision and find areas of opportunity and innovation.

• Create excellent products and services using TypeScript React and Node.js with a solid understanding of clean code practices and exposure to enterprise architectural design patterns.
• Experience with recent trends in developer tooling developer productivity and maintaining public opensource libraries is a plus.
• Is a strong communicator with a passion for collaboration and pair programming.
• Is excited about collaborating with a broader engineering organization across multiple time zones and handling asynchronous communication.
• A passion for AIdriven innovation thinking about how we can incorporate AI into extending our platform and building developer tools.

This role will need to be conducted in a state in which we are currently registered to do business. 

Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data/ranges applicants skills and prior relevant experience certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology) for example.

Colorado Salary Range: $118000 $167000
This position is eligible for equity awards in accordance with the terms of Contentfuls equity plans.
