Position Overview
The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all Environmental Health and Safety activities in the plant to proactively drive programs and create a
culture to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all of the Companys employees.
Responsibilities
Conduct periodic safety and health walkthrough inspections of all workplace facilities
Oversee compliance with applicable OSHA laws and regulatory concerns
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment in the plant
Establish and monitor a program for reporting and investigating nearmiss situations
Ensure that all employee training is completed documented and maintained
Manage the applications renewal and reporting process for environmental permits
Review incident and accident reports to determine root causes and determine appropriate corrective actions and measures to prevent repeats
Secure and update safety data sheets for all chemicals used in the facility
Coordinate and lead monthly safety committee meetings
Maintain OSHA 300 logs and posts annual results
Coordinate vendor inspections and services
Maintain safety standards in the workplace
Ensure Quality in the workplace
Requirements
At a minimum an Associates degree in a technical discipline
2 to 4 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment
OSHA training
Knowledge: Solid understanding of facilitating a successful EH&S program.
Advanced safety knowledge including accident prevention public safety accident investigation motor vehicle accident prevention fire prevention workers compensation and security
Skills: Proficient with computers; Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills; Good interpersonal skills; Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Abilities: Ability to work independently on assigned duties; Demonstrate an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
Training Requirements: General Safety and Quality System Awareness and Procedures
