The New York City (NYC) Bureau of Tuberculosis Control (BTBC) is committed to preventing the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and eliminating it as a public health problem in NYC. The core goals of the bureau are to identify all individuals with suspected or confirmed TB disease and ensure their appropriate treatment ideally on directly observed therapy (DOT) and to ensure that individuals at high risk for progression from latent TB infection to TB disease complete treatment and do not develop disease. To fulfill its mission and goals BTBC performs a number of integrated activities and provides patientcentered services in collaboration with local health care providers laboratories community partners and others. Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control and working closely with the Policy and Planning Unit you will support the Assistant Commissioners Office in coordinating across Bureau offices and teams to streamline Bureau operations ensure the completion of priority projects and respond to Agency and City leadership requests in a timely and highquality manner.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Track Bureau projects and facilitate followup on priority initiatives for the Assistant Commissioner
Develop presentations talking points and onepagers; write letters and memos; conduct literature reviews and assist with data collection and analysis; design and produce routine and special reports as well as other materials on public health and clinical topics in accordance with Bureau and Agency standards
Function as Bureau liaison for various City leadership and other stakeholder requests; coordinate responses to requests for data and programmatic information in a timely and efficient manner
Support the Policy and Planning Unit through policy and protocol development tracking analysis and updates
Provide supplemental support for the Office of the Assistant Commissioner and Policy and Planning Unit as needed including developing meeting agendas taking notes and tracking followups

Qualifications :
1. For Assignment Level I (only physical biological and environmental sciences and public health) A masters degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical biological or environmental science or in public health.
To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above candidates must have:
1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical biological environmental or social science and one year of fulltime experience in a responsible supervisory administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or
2. A masters degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical biological environmental or social science and three years of responsible fulltime research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least a masters degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in 2 above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in 1 and 2 above.

Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.
