Chemistry Analyst - Raw Materials 12 month FTC

We currently have an opportunity for an Analyst to join our Raw Materials Chemistry team in Dungarvan Co. Waterford for a 12month fixed term contract

The purpose of this job is to carry out scientific test procedures on customers samples and produce accurate results within an acceptable time frame using company procedures. 

Job Responsibilities

• To perform routine and nonroutine analysis as requested by the laboratory.
• To carry out data review
• To prepare and approve results for tests in which they are deemed competent.
• To be aware of customers requirements and should strive to meet those requirements keeping in mind the cycle is not complete until the customer has obtained their report.
• To deal with customer queries and telephone significant results to customers.
• To keep up to date with any technological or method revisions in their area ensuring their training is complete and adjusting their work as required.
• To train other more junior members of staff in analytical techniques as required.
• To revise SOPs as required by the laboratory.
• To participate in the companys weekend rota and/or overtime schedule as required.
• To be responsible for up dating any relevant documentation when requested.
• To provide cover for other members of staff as required.
• To ensure that customers requirements are fully met and in so doing be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required. 
• To identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

• Minimum BSc in Science preferably chemistry
• Minimum 2years experience in  a GMP Environment preferably in a QC role
• Experience with Raw Material testing including FTIR KF HPLC GC UVVis etc.
• Experience with Waters and Empower III an advantage
