You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Labour and Employment (L&E) Lawyer specializes in laws & regulations/policies & practices as it pertains to employees including in the areas of benefits and compensation across the Europe region. Interprets laws and legal frameworks and provides practical solutions to the business aligned with the companys global strategy. Is closely connected with internal stakeholders and understands their challenges; recommends best practices to improve processes policies and legal documents. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.
The role will support NIQ for the Europe region. The position will be expected to work as part of crossfunctional teams to support the business L&E needs as required.
Responsibilities:
Providing legal advice and support on labor and employment law issues to NIQ across Europe while understanding the Companys representative bodies obligations. Provide practical legal and compliance advice across a wide range of crossborder issues including for example restructuring projects redundancies and outsourcing; benefits harmonization acquisitions and divestitures and HR policies standardization.
Provide advice and counsel on daytoday employment matters such as performance management discipline grievances terminations severance etc.
Retain and work effectively with outside counsel where required and manage external counsel to reduce costs secure valueadded services and improve make vs buy decisions.
Work as part of the L&E team to drive simplification initiatives and consistent enterprise standards for Labour and Employment support across the Europe Region.
Providing training for the HR and business teams on key employment and compliance risk areas.
Keeping abreast of relevant legal developments across Europe.
Qualifications and Requirements:
More than 7 years of experience in Labour and Employment law across multiple European jurisdictions.
Preferably time spent both with a leading law firm or inhouse with a large multinational corporation that includes:
Extensive handson labour & employment legal experience including experience in handling crossborder matters and major projects; and
Substantial experience and success in working with senior management and international environments
Handson rollupyoursleeves attorney who can work well in a fastpaced environment
The experience and confidence to push for change and when appropriate challenge the status quo in a way that will be heard and respected
Able to work collaboratively across multiple functions in a team environment to implement complex programs; strong interpersonal skills; team player with a sense of humor and ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels
Must be a selfstarter and finisher with the ability to efficiently complete projects with minimal oversight
A sophisticated understanding of business and commerce to ensure that a compliant environment is aligned with corporate business objectives
Ability to distill complex legal concepts and issues in a manner to make them understandable to nonlegal specialists
Solutionsoriented approach to problem solving
Excellent risk identification and mitigation skills
Fluent in English
