Job Description

Specific Duties

  • Responsible for commissioning maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customer sites within the assigned regional coverage area.
  • Conducts commissioningfocused design reviews prepares commissioning test procedures and reports and oversees onsite testing.
  • Performs preventive maintenance emergency response equipment startup and field modifications.
  • Attends periodic training on various OEM units and standard operating procedures (SOPs) including testing equipment and rebuilding older systems.
  • Troubleshoots maintenance or operational issues in collaboration with technical support teams.
  • Assists in developing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and consults with supervisors regarding complex issues and developments.

Job Requirements

  • 35 years of experience in the critical power industry with the ability to troubleshoot equipment such as UPS batteries PDUs STS etc. down to the component level.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Ability to provide highquality service and complete field service reports in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer specifications for power equipment.
  • Capability to work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness in problemsolving.
  • Physical ability to perform repeated bending and lifting of up to 100 lbs. when required.
  • Ability to offer proactive recommendations to clients based on site assessments.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of general computer hardware and software applications.
  • Experience with thirdparty UPS service is a plus.
  • OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Liebert/Emerson/Vertiv APC/MGE/Schneider or Eaton/Powerware is required.
  • A technical degree is preferred.
  • Military experience and training are a plus.

Educational Background

  • Graduate of a twoyear accredited technical school in an engineering or technical field
    OR
  • Three to five years of technician experience in a related power electronics field or industry
