Job Description
Specific Duties
- Responsible for commissioning maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customer sites within the assigned regional coverage area.
- Conducts commissioningfocused design reviews prepares commissioning test procedures and reports and oversees onsite testing.
- Performs preventive maintenance emergency response equipment startup and field modifications.
- Attends periodic training on various OEM units and standard operating procedures (SOPs) including testing equipment and rebuilding older systems.
- Troubleshoots maintenance or operational issues in collaboration with technical support teams.
- Assists in developing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and consults with supervisors regarding complex issues and developments.
Job Requirements
- 35 years of experience in the critical power industry with the ability to troubleshoot equipment such as UPS batteries PDUs STS etc. down to the component level.
- Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to provide highquality service and complete field service reports in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with manufacturer specifications for power equipment.
- Capability to work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness in problemsolving.
- Physical ability to perform repeated bending and lifting of up to 100 lbs. when required.
- Ability to offer proactive recommendations to clients based on site assessments.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Knowledge of general computer hardware and software applications.
- Experience with thirdparty UPS service is a plus.
- OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Liebert/Emerson/Vertiv APC/MGE/Schneider or Eaton/Powerware is required.
- A technical degree is preferred.
- Military experience and training are a plus.
Educational Background
- Graduate of a twoyear accredited technical school in an engineering or technical field
OR - Three to five years of technician experience in a related power electronics field or industry
