Job Description
The technician will work under the supervision of a field supervisor to provide demand service to industrial and commercial customers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting repairing and maintaining a variety of classified and nonclassified HVAC/R equipment including refrigeration units ice machines air conditioning systems electric motors heating units heat pumps hermetic compressors light commercial furnaces boilers chillers rental equipment VFDs intake and exhaust fans economizers pressurizers pneumatic controls steam heating dehumidifiers and humidifiers.
Job Duties
- Maintain repair and troubleshoot various heating cooling refrigeration and ventilation equipment in an industrial environment.
- Diagnose service issues source replacement parts calibrate systems per manufacturer specifications and clearly explain issues and solutions to customers.
- Document equipment details upon arrival including make model serial number test measurements and photos as needed.
- Provide effective and efficient solutions to customer needs and service requests.
- Communicate professionally with customers dispatch estimators supervisors and management.
- Travel to job sites and coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedules and communicate delays to customers.
- Be available for night and weekend shifts on a rotating basis to meet emergency service needs.
- Maintain company vehicle including refueling reporting mechanical issues and completing monthly vehicle inspections.
- Ensure proper stock parts tools and safety equipment are maintained in the vehicle.
- Utilize field service software and demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Participate in companyprovided training on the latest industry technologies.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with chillers ice machines and controls.
- Familiarity with boilers steam heating systems and classified equipment.
- Knowledge of Aaon and Addison equipment.
Certifications Required
- Basic Safety Certification (HASC or ISTC)
- TWIC Card
- Universal EPA Certification
Qualifications
- Must pass background check and drug screening and maintain a clear driving record.
- Strong dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Knowledge of industrial HVAC equipment including DX watercooled chilled water air pressurization and scrubber systems.
- Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and requirements.
- Flexibility to adapt to various work schedules based on customer demand.
- Safetyoriented mindset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience working on DX comfort and process cooling/heating equipment up to 50 tons.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks correctly the first time.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. push pull carry or maneuver heavy items (with assistance or lifting devices).
- Capability to carry ladders and work at heights.
- Proficiency in reading schematics.
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate appbased software.
Work Experience
- 35 years of experience in troubleshooting repairing and maintaining a wide range of HVAC/R equipment.
