Job Description
The Supply Chain Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the procurement function by acting as a backup buyer improving procurement processes maintaining systems building reports and providing training to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset attention to detail and a collaborative approach to ensure effective procurement and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement / Project
- Identify areas for improvement within procurement processes workflows and operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs;
- Analyze existing procurement procedures make recommendations for process changes and implement improvements to streamline purchasing activities;
- Develop and document new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement activities to ensure consistency across the team.
Report Building and Analysis
- Build and maintain procurementrelated reports including spend analysis supplier performance and inventory turnover reports;
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decisionmaking within the procurement team;
- Regularly review KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes and identify areas for improvement.
System Maintenance
- Maintain and update procurement systems (e.g. ERP MRP or procurement software) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies;
- Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with IT or external vendors to resolve technical problems related to procurement systems;
- Implement system upgrades new features or tools that improve procurement performance.
Training and Development
- Provide training to new team members and other departments on procurement processes systems and tools;
- Ensure all relevant staff are up to date with the latest procedures systems and procurement best practices;
- Create training materials manuals and guides to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Backup Buyer
- Serve as a backup to the primary buyers by handling purchase orders supplier communications and procurement tasks as needed;
- Ensure continuity of purchasing operations during peak times absences or urgent procurement requirements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business or a related field;
- 35 years of experience in procurement supply chain or operations roles;
- Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g. ERP MRP) and strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis;
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement new procedures;
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work crossfunctionally and provide training;
- Fluency in both oral and written English and French (English is essential for serving our U.S.based clients);
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
