AutoCAD Checker

The AutoCAD Checker will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of AutoCAD drawings related to Structural Steel and miscellaneous metal detailing. In this position you will review and mark up drawings in accordance with industry standards (AISC AWS and NISD) prior to their release to the field. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in structural steel detailing along with expertise in checking shop and erection drawings.

Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Review and mark up detailed shop and erection drawings independently
• Ensure accuracy completeness and compliance with project specifications
• Communicate project details and revisions to management and steel detailers
• Maintain and update project files including repeat designs and necessary alterations
• Check up to 40 drawings a day and manage 7 to 8 projects daily

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Structural Steel or Miscellaneous Metal Detailing and Checking
• Ability to read and interpret contract drawings shop drawings erection drawings and project specifications
• Strong knowledge of Structural Steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication processes
• Excellent attention to detail

Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a related field preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Engineering or Architectural related field

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Structural Steel checking with alternative strong backgrounds considered
• Familiarity with Tekla SDS/2 and Bluebeam software is a plus
