Job Description

Reporting directly to the Executive Director Payer & GPO Accounts the National Account Director (NAD) will serve as the lead point of contact for all Sobi business related to assigned national accounts and managing business activities within those assigned accounts. The NAD will also lead all contracting efforts for Sobi products as needed. Most critically the NAD is responsible for securing and protecting the best and most profitable access for products and ensuring their market performance. The NAD will also be responsible for developing mutually beneficial relationships that align strategically to the business needs of the customer and Sobi. They will also be responsible for developing maintaining and executing account business plans that deliver on the described requirements. The NAD will be responsible for working with Sobi colleagues to ensure the appropriate level of crossfunctional support and pull through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize sales opportunities across the entire Sobi portfolio
  • Develop and grow business partnerships and ensure profitable formulary acceptance of Sobi products through strong negotiations to achieve coverage goals within assigned accounts
  • Analyze and understand local environment account business and align Sobi priorities to create account plans that deliver activities that contribute to the defined business objectives
  • Monitor progress in assigned accounts and take/evolve action plans as appropriate (monitor customer contacts plan execution profit value volume growth and market share)
  • Monitor and report on any Sobi contracted products performance to Sobi leadership
  • Develop effective relationships with Key CSuite and administrative roles within an account (CEO CFE CMO Dir. Of Pharmacy Dir. of Quality Industry Relations etc.)
  • Seek out opportunities for synergy and partnership to achieve both Sobi and customer goals through active and transparent customer planning
  • Understand and engage in key local national and international health care issues/strategies customer issues/trends and best practices to establish credibility beyond product and therapeutic areas

Qualifications :

  • A minimum of a B.A/B.S. required; MBA or other related advanced degree strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years successful pharmaceutical experience
  • A minimum of 35 years successful experience in account management in the pharmaceutical industry
  • A minimum of 2 years of contract negotiation experience
  • Extensive managed care and account management experience
  • Highly successful and demonstrated experience implementing pullthrough programs
  • Ability to complete projects and achieve goals on time while delivering high quality result
  • Strong communication skills with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross functionally


Additional Information :

The base salary pay range for this role is $175000$230000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match short and longterm incentives medical dental vision STD/LTD and life insurance benefits in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
