We are seeking Pharmacy Technicians to support the inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations at the VA Health Care System. This role requires assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications managing inventory processing prescriptions and ensuring compliance with VA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
- Process inpatient and outpatient prescription orders following VA protocols.
- Manage medication inventory including stocking ordering and verifying expiration dates.
- Operate pharmacy automation systems and electronic medical records (VISTA/CPRS).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for controlled substances.
- Provide medication education and support to patients under pharmacist supervision.
- Comply with all VA regulations and safety protocols.
Compensation Details:
- Hourly Pay Rate (Taxable): $19.92/hour
- Overtime Pay Rate (Taxable): $29.88/hour
- Weekly Fringe Benefits (NonTaxable): $197.20 ($4.93/hour)
- Total Weekly Gross Package: $1350
Requirements
- Licensure/Certification:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with an active license.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience (VA experience preferred).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with VISTA/CPRS electronic medical records.
- Experience working in an inpatient or outpatient pharmacy setting.
- Other Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder.
Schedule:
- 40hour workweek with 8hour shifts including day evening night weekend and holiday rotations as needed.
