Job Description

As a vital part of it in your role as Channel Sales Manager South Africa you will report directly to the Regional Director and be responsible for selling Western Digital Storage Solutions.

  • Desktop / NAS / Smart Video HDD.
  • Consumer Storage Solutions / External Hard Drives.
  • Enterprise Storage Solutions

You will also work to maintain strong relationships with existing distributors and customers to manage the operation of and grow market share in the assigned channels.  In addition you will be responsible for setting up the distribution network by identifying key System Integrators/Installers and Security Camera Vendors in the channel.  You should have a strong IT background with channel experience along with strong business development skills and the drive and execution to take tasks from start to finish.

You must be able to travel.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Achieve the quarterly sales targets.  Work closely with Distributors assigning them quarterly targets.
  • Set the distribution network for WD Devices Business
  • Identify the key System integrators/Partners and develop/build the market for the brand with a focus on Enterprise and surveillance business.
  • Work closely with Distributors and manage:
    • Pricing
    • Stock Distribution
    • Orders and Forecast
    • Payments.
  • Develop strong relationships with existing System integrators through:
    • Training
    • Seminars
    • Incentive Programs
  • Build alliances with CCTV vendors to help develop and grow our surveillance hard drive business.
  • Regular visits and meetings
  • Responsible for building relationships and influencing the mind share of the customer to increase sales and market share while maintaining a competitive position and yielding the highest possible returns on sales.
  • Collect compile and analyze information i.e. competitive information etc. to utilize in decisionmaking and business strategies.
  • Work with and through other departments within the company to ensure that all sales activities meet/satisfy all business and/or legal requirements.
  • Work closely with our marketing team to identify opportunities plan for these opportunities and execute them within the quarter.
  • Use appropriate internal resources to meet customer requirements/schedules.

 


Qualifications :

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in a similar sales role.
  • Indepth experience and understanding of the South African IT Distribution/Channel landscape.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop new business.
  • Strong business development skills

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with CCTV vendors and surveillance hard drive business.
  • Retail and ETail Experience.
  • Effectively uses sales process tools and qualification procedures.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent negotiation skills and is persuasive.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English
  • Interact and communicate effectively with employees vendors contractors and management on business matters in a business professional manner.
  • Independent and adaptive team player
  • Excellent customer presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Proficient with Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office
  • Candidate will be selfmotivated driven customeroriented resourceful and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to handle pressure and diverse issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and changeable environment while maintaining quality of work.
