Software Engineer BackendFullstack Poland Remote

Turnitin is seeking a Fullstack/Backend Engineer with a strong focus on backend development particularly in Java and serverless architectures combined with solid frontend experience. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about building scalable distributed systems data modeling and delivering highperforming reliable software solutions for our awardwinning educational platform.

As a core contributor to our shared services team you will play a key role in developing and enhancing the foundational systems that power both existing and new applications.

Responsibilities: 

• Make significant contributions in designing developing and optimizing scalable shared backend services using Java and serverless technologies.
• Contribute to design and implementation of RESTful APIs and eventdriven systems.
• Contribute to the development of userfacing frontend components as needed.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Architects Product Managers and engineering leads to deliver impactful solutions.
• Participate in code reviews testing and ensuring adherence to software development standards.
• Participate in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Follow software development best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Create comprehensive documentation for the developed shared components including usage guidelines and examples.

Qualifications :

Requirements:

• 5 years of Experience in backend development with proficiency in Java and familiarity with serverless frameworks (e.g. AWS Lambda Google Cloud Functions).
• Handson experience with frontend technologies (e.g. React Angular or Vue.js).
• Strong knowledge of objectoriented design and implementation and RESTful API design and implementation.
• Understanding of distributed systems scalability and data modeling.
• Ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams and contribute to impactful solutions.
• Enthusiasm for solving complex problems and contributing to impactful projects in the education technology space.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with software development best practices (e.g. design patterns testdriven development code profiling debugging).
• Proven experience with DynamoBD and AWS serverless.
• High level knowledge and experience of industry trends and technology advancements relating to distributed systems cloud platform as a service and software as a service.
• Handson experience building cloudready solutions based on micro services and multitenancy architecture.
• Background in cloud technologies and frameworks such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
• Experience with technologies such as message queue SSO standard such as SAML and Open ID authorization frameworks such as OAuth2.
