About the programs:
LLFs work on Multilingual Education (MLE)
Resonating with the spirit of the NEP 2020 NIPUN Bharat and NCFFS 2022 LLF has always been committed to the formal use of childrens home languages in the classroom to ensure equity and optimum learning benefits. LLF has been working as a pioneer organization in the domain of multilingual education in the country.
To address the homeschool language gap LLF has been running its Multilingual Education (MLE) Demonstration Programs in various districts of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan with children of grades 1 2 and 3. The interventions also include a comprehensive research component focused on developing critical understanding around key issues related to multilingual education and generating evidence in Indian contexts. Apart from this LLF has been advocating a Multilingual Education Approach to achieve the goals of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in other states.
LLF also works in partnership with the NCERT states and several eminent organizations on various MLE initiatives like developing and implementing courses capacity building of teachers and administrators conducting language surveys and research studies documentation of processes and practices making public goods (videos/handbooks/playbooks/guidelines) developing childrens literature policy and advocacy etc.
Position Summary
The District Program Manager MLE (DPM) will be responsible for planning implementing and monitoring LLFs MLE initiatives in Bastar. The role involves academic and administrative oversight focusing on capacity building stakeholder management and ensuring project outcomes in alignment with LLFs goals for foundational literacy and numeracy. The DPM will report to the State Manager and collaborate with the MLE team at the state and central levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of MLE programs in the district ensuring integration of childrens home languages in foundational learning.
Develop and facilitate training programs and workshops for teachers academic coordinators and government officials.
Design and review instructional materials such as childrens workbooks and teacher guides in coordination with the MLE team.
Monitor classroom practices providing onground support to teachers and administrators. Conduct regular school visits (minimum 10 visits/month) to observe and document teachinglearning processes.
2. Program Implementation and Monitoring
Develop and manage detailed activity plans for the district covering teacher training stakeholder orientation and program monitoring.
Ensure timely collection analysis and reporting of assessment and monitoring data to the state team.
Maintain a districtlevel master data sheet including participant registration and program progress.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with district and block officials including DEOs DIET faculty and BRCs to build ownership and support for MLE programs.
Organize review meetings with government officials to share progress and plan next steps.
Represent LLF in districtlevel forums and meetings
4. Administrative and People Management
Supervise Academic and Training Coordinators ensuring alignment with project goals.
Conduct regular performance reviews and capacitybuilding sessions for district level staff.
Manage training logistics invoices and vendor relationships.
5. Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and share monthly quarterly and annual progress reports with the State Manager.
Document key processes challenges and best practices to inform program improvements.
Any other task assign by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Educational Background: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Education Management or a related field.
2. Experience: 510 years in education project management including training material development and capacity building.
3. Familiarity with foundational literacy and numeracy programs and earlygrade education. 4. Experience working with district education systems and government stakeholders. 5. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
6. Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
7. Fluency in Hindi and English (knowledge of local languages is an asset).
8. Passion for multilingual education and equity in learning.
9. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
11. A proactive mindset with a focus on results and accountability.
