Leading the department of game designers allocated to JOG Studio to ensure quality of work deadline commitment efficient use and coordination of resource training and development of game designers their motivation and improvement (performance skill working behavior).
Communicating with the Studio Manager & Production Manager to implement solutions for the whole game design department (resource planning and coordination training).
Principal Responsibilities
- Regularly conduct department evaluations aimed at promoting and showcasing whats going well and at improving whats not going well following a clear action plan with clear milestones and performance indicators
- Lead and coordinate the improving of the skills of the Game Design department in order to align with the studios vision industry trends and the most up to date tools and design processes in the market
- Create and execute on his own vision for the Game Design department aligned with the studios long term plan
- With strong Live Ops knowledge identify the game designers with potential and work with them toward building a solid Live Ops core of game designers in the studio
- Be an active part of the discussions with relevant studios or projects stakeholders from other Gameloft studios
- With relevant Producer Discuss best practices on projects and coordinate with relevant producers to apply them as well as raising any issues encountered that need support for solving
- Lead and coordinate recruitment and training efforts aimed at aligning the Game Design department with the long term vision of the studio
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Leaders mindset and strong soft skills;
- 3 years of experience in a similar role;
- Experience designing the game as a service;
- Experience with live games postlaunch evolution;
- Analytic mindset and habit to review and finetune the results of your efforts;
- Passion for video games and game development;
- Proficiency with gameplay design and player experience design;
- Knowledge of game design theory and deep understanding of gameplay fundamentals;
- Profound gaming experience on mobile and other platforms;
- English (full working proficiency).
Would be considered a plus:
- Shipped title(s) from concept to release and beyond;
- Experience designing freetoplay games;
- Proficiency with game editors and prototyping tools;
- Strong pitching and presentation skills;
- Programming scripting 2D or 3D art scriptwriting or video directing working background;
- Special education in game design architecture psychology or computer programming
