Job Description
You will play a key role at SIXT guiding engineering teams in the Fleet Management domain through engineering managers and helping shape the product and technology strategy for this critical area.
Fleet management begins with streamlined vehicle purchasing through direct integrations with OEMs expediting order management. Once acquired vehicles are infleeted for operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
Master data enrichment plays a crucial role capturing and updating detailed vehicle information (e.g. specifications usage and maintenance) to enable effective management and informed decisionmaking. Lifecycle status management ensures vehicles remain operational efficient and compliant. This is one of the key areas of Sixt having the Fleet Management as a core competence of a Car Rental company. You will have the opportunity to make one of the greatest impact as we are currently modernizing our systems to realize a product vision that will transform and significantly enhance the customer experience.
At the end of their lifecycle vehicles enter remarketing where their condition resale value and buyers are assessed to maximize residual value bolstering fleet financial health.
Fleet management also supports a single platform that enables all logistical vehicle movements within SIXT locations or to/from external compounds streamlining integrations with external carrier partners.
Your expertise will be instrumental in driving innovation optimizing operations and shaping the future success of SIXT. By collaborating with diverse teams and addressing complex challenges you will help lead the way toward operational excellence and groundbreaking advancements in Fleet Management.

- You will lead and grow a team of smart software engineering managers on a mission of constant development enabling them to meet their personal and organizational goals.
- You evangelize modern engineering practices and empower your team to make technical decisions
- You embody servant leadership prioritizing serving and empowering your team rather than exerting control. You champion autonomous teams guiding them through decisionmaking processes. With innate people skills you adeptly coach mentor and inspire others to elevate their abilities.
- You possess a product mindset collaborating closely with the product owner to shape the product vision while also demonstrating an understanding of and proficiency in managing the delicate balance between time to market and accumulating technical debt.
- You understand that it is all about execution and delivery of value even when roadmaps and priorities change often. You do not limit yourself by boundaries between IT and other departments.
YOUR SKILLS MATTER
- You have proven experience in managing and leading software engineering teams to success.
- You have a strong technical background that that you have applied numerous times in different complex projects. You have worked with AWS Azure or GCP.
- You possess strong system design skills and are able to challenge and support your teams in this process by proactively identifying potential pitfalls or risks ensuring successful outcomes.
- You have strong communication skills and able to adapt your language to the audience more technical when speaking with engineers more functional when speaking with stakeholders.
- You are knowledgeable about agile methodologies and their application in dynamic environments.
- You recognize the value of feedback both when offering it and when receiving it viewing it as a gift that fuels growth and development.
