WaterResources Engineering Intern

AECOM is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern based in the Burnaby British Columbia office.

The job responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• A willingness to be versatile and a team player in contributing towards a variety of water resources projects.
• Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Developing solutions and assessments using hydraulic modelling techniques.
• Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Prepare engineeringrelated calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Develop solutions for routine technical problems with limited scope.
• Provision of contract administration services. 
• Work under the supervision of a project engineer or seniorlevel team member.
• Technical report writing.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Environmental Water Resources Engineering or related field and must have completed at least 3 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelors degree and plan to continue with the masters degree are eligible to apply for this position. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their Bachelors Degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstration of highquality English report writing skills.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets word processing and standard office software.
• Basic knowledge of industrystandard computer software for the position (examples include software such as Hec Ras SWMM GIS CADD and other Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).
• Experience with project management concepts and principles.
