Position Overview:
This role will be responsible for both individual and complex tax returns during tax season and assisting the team with accounting work during nonpeak. This individual will also need to be comfortable cleaning up financial statements as company returns are being prepared. This role will also have 13 accountants to manage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mentor and manage the tax team including associates and younger staff.
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns.
- Serve as a technical resource on federal and state tax regulations.
- Oversee tax planning and advisory services for highnetworth individuals and businesses.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations and provide guidance on regulatory reporting.
- Drive improvements in workflow efficiency and quality within the tax team.
- Analyze taxrelated financial reports to identify performance metrics and operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including clients and regulatory bodies.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and implement changes as necessary.
Requirements:
- CPA license (in good standing).
- 5 years of experience in public accounting
- 3 years in a management or leadership role
- Strong expertise in individual and business tax returns tax planning and compliance.
- Proven ability to manage complex tax issues and provide strategic advice to clients.
- Excellent analytical skills and familiarity with financial report interpretation.
- Exceptional client service skills and experience managing client relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws as well as regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in CCH ProSystem FX software and other accounting systems.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to effectively manage the team and liaise with clients.
