Job Description
- Provides technical design implementation and life cycle support of Vmware and Isilon (NAS) storage. Operate as the subject matter expert for the Vmware platform.
- Partner with various engineering tools and BTS Teams to streamline and improve current Windows/Vmware processes to support BTS Strategic Operation Initiatives.
- Collaborating with security vendors on new releases and support issues. Drives resolution and creates implementation plan for incident tickets.
- Support of security vulnerabilities for the Vmware platforms.
- Assist with the lifecycle management for Vmware and planning grades for the enterprise data center environments including testing new releases.
- A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP DNS SMTP HTTP and distributed networks)
- Strong experience with data center expansions for compute and storage utilizing Dell/EMC VxRail and VxRack Hyper converged solutions
- Assist engineering teams to implement storage solutions including PowerScale and NetApp including implementing best practice governance and security controls.
- Provide support to outsourced operations team to ensure Incident and Problem Management is a mechanism that feeds continuous improvement for Vmware and NAS storage
- Adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable corporate and divisional policies
