Job Description:

Role Overview: The Functional Baseline Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the functional architecture of rail systems ensuring alignment with project requirements and maintaining seamless communication across key interfaces and stakeholders such as TCMS Safety CTC and Systems teams. The role requires onsite presence and strong language skills to support customer interactions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Content and Deadline Coordination:
  • Clarify content and deadlines with interfaces including TCMS Safety CTC and Systems.
  • Maintain and update the Functional Change Requests (FCR) list.
  • Facilitate regular coordination with customers.
  1. Baseline Planning and Decision Support:
  • Present functional baseline planning as decision templates to designated contacts.
  • Support the PrEM (Project Engineering Manager) in making decisions related to the functional baseline.
  1. Requirement Management and Documentation:
  • Process functional architecture modules in DOORS per the requirement management process.
  • Review and incorporate FCRs including customeroriginated and internal customer changes.
  • Prepare concept documents (FVDS) to document and implement changes.
  1. Evaluation and Feedback:
  • Evaluate operating instructions and summary lists for new functions.
  • Provide answers and feedback on vehicle functionality to experts including change impact analysis.
  1. Coordination and Communication:
  • Participate in regular project meetings such as the Engineering Core Team PCCB ECCB and FCCB to ensure project information flow and content alignment.
  1. Customer Interaction:
  • Conduct negotiations and coordinate with the German customer (DB) ensuring clarity and alignment on requirements and deliverables.
  1. Onsite Presence:
  • Work onsite at Henningsdorf Germany to maintain close collaboration with stakeholders and ensure project continuity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Language Proficiency: Mandatory fluency in German for effective customer negotiations with DB (Deutsche Bahn).
  • Strong experience in functional architecture requirement management and rail systems.
  • Proficiency in DOORS or similar requirement management tools
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to engage with multiple stakeholders.
  • Analytical and detailoriented with the ability to manage and resolve complex functional change requests.
