What you will be doing:
- Help design and implement a comprehensive development plan.
- Establish external alliances and cultivate individual corporate and philanthropic support.
- Be responsible for raising $2 million.
- Manage major gifts legacy gifts special event fundraising naming campaigns online/crowdsource fundraising and corporate/foundation support.
- Expand and diversify the League’s donor base/pipeline.
- Work closely with League management to secure funding for new initiatives.
- Cocreate and execute a comprehensive annual strategic development plan in partnership with the CEO.
- Secure financial support from individuals foundations and corporations with a focus on Planned Gifts.
- Develop foster and maintain relationships with major donors to increase the revenue base.
- Share best practices creative solutions and innovative approaches to meet fundraising goals.
- Regularly assess development strategies and adjust based on donor feedback and outcomes.
- Manage all moves management efforts ensuring all donor cultivation and gifts received are tracked accordingly in the Donor Perfect database.
- Supervise and support staff responsible for data entry tax acknowledgment letters gift processing and other Development assignments.
- Lead support and implement special events fundraising as appropriate or guided by the CEO.
- Engage in community relations with neighbors city/state officials key constituents and the Chamber of Commerce.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) required; masters degree a plus.
- 5 years of successful experience in planning leading and managing development projects in a nonprofit setting including significant experience in a leadership position.
- Experience supervising and managing staff.
- Demonstrated success in developing a major gift program and/or legacy gift program.
- Experience cultivating or managing a corporate engagement program.
- Proven track record in growing philanthropic revenue and expanding donor bases in a nonprofit setting.
- Experience working collaboratively with a Board of Directors and programs.
- Experience nurturing and motivating volunteers and/or members with an appreciation for their role in fundraising.
- Development/Fundraising certification and/or association involvement is a plus.
- Experience with related missiondriven organization preferred.
