Job Description
The Role
As part of the role you will:
- Manage DE teams to deliver data solutions for clients
- Lead in architecting data landscapes that to reflect data strategies
- Understand and translate enduser requirements into designs and delivery plans for effective data solutions
- Design develop execute frameworks for managing the build of pipelines using cloud technologies
- Manage teams in supporting technical implementations and resolve data quality issues within given SLAs
- Manage the development of best practice within the Data Engineering practice
- Take a lead role in mentoring and developing others in the team and inspire them through commitment and enthusiasm
- Work with Azure team leads to ensure best practice implementations
- Build an inclusive team culture focusing on service excellence and exceptional performance
- Manage the development and maintenance of T&Ts documentation and processes
Qualifications :
Skills required for this role are:
- Proven Experience working and managing teams working in:
- Databricks
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Synapse (and data warehousing approaches) or SSIS
- Azure Analysis Services
- DataOps and Data Quality tools such as great Expectations
- Comprehensive and demonstratable experience in programming languages such as:
- SQL
- Python
- Spark
- DAX
- C#
- Comprehensive and demonstratable experience in Devops practices:
- CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferable)
- GIT and Version Control
- Terraform or Bicep development
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal able to translate complex technical subject matter into easily understood presentations and written documentation for mixed technical audiences.
Desirable:
- Real time data experience
- MLOps / Machine Learning Engineering processes to support advanced analytical use cases
- Data modelling including Kimball
- Container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience translating designs of Azure data solutions into action
- Working in a support environment
- Analysis/requirements gathering solution design and implementation of data platform and Azure technologies
- Experience in collaborating in multidisciplinary teams including software engineers DevOps and infrastructure teams data scientists etc.
